Health Center at Options
Bellingham Public Schools is excited to be a part of a growing movement across the state to provide essential health services on school campuses. School-based health centers have been shown to improve school attendance, and they provide the most benefit to students who experience barriers to accessing health care, such as transportation and family work schedules. We are especially grateful to Compass Health and Sea Mar Community Health Centers for partnering us during planning and implementation of the first health center for Bellingham Public Schools.
Who can access the Health Center at Options?
While the medical clinic is open to all Bellingham Public Schools high school students, outreach and enrollment efforts will be focused on Options students during the first two years (2024-2026). Compass Health provides services in a number of schools in addition to Options — ask your school’s counselor if this is a need for you or your child.
