Update for the class of 2021: graduation at Civic Field

A Message from Options High School

Dear seniors and families of the class of 2021,

We are looking forward to celebrating graduates of our high schools on June 12 at Civic Field in Bellingham.

This is the first time we have hosted back-to-back graduation events, and we need your help to make the day run smoothly. We have a few requests to help ensure our graduation events start and end on time and that all participants and guests feel comfortable and safe.

  • We ask that guests arrive on time and do their best to depart Civic Field and head back to your school or home to meet your graduate. Plan to take any photos with graduates back at your home high school or other alternate locations, not at Civic Field. This will ensure staff can prep for the next graduation, and that the parking lot is clear for the next families.
  • We ask that all graduates ride the bus to and from Civic Field from their high school. Riding our buses helps reduce traffic congestion and allows classmates to be together before and after this important milestone.
  • All graduates and guests will need to wear a mask and maintain physical distancing at Civic Field and at our high schools. Graduation is a school sponsored event, and masks are still required on our school grounds. Thanks in advance for wearing your mask so we can all focus on what matters most: the class of 2021!
  • Each graduate will get six tickets for guests. Please return tickets you do not need to your school office. We ask that you do not give another student or family your unused extras.
  • Please limit the items you bring to graduation. Graduates should wear comfortable walking shoes, graduation caps and gowns, and masks. Guests should wear masks and weather-appropriate clothes. Please do not bring signs or other items that may distract other guests.

Please watch for messaging in the next few days with additional details about the event. We will also be sending links for streaming graduation events live or watching later.

Thank you for your help in making graduation for the class of 2021 a celebratory and special day!

With excitement and gratitude,

Byron Gerard, principal of Options High School
